House of guard in Sh3m theft case raided – court told
A court in Meru has heard that supporters of Tharaka Nithi Deputy Governor Eliud Mate allegedly stole Sh80,000 from the house of his bodyguard Joshphat Kipyegon. Kipyegon has been charged with robbing Mate of Sh3.2 million. Lawyer Kiogora Mugambi said Kipyegon’s house is in Mate’s compound. It had been ransacked and money stolen. Rose Kajira, Kipyegon’s companion, is also accused of handling stolen property. The two appeared before principal magistrate Stella Abuya and denied the charges.
