We won’t let you incite residents, politicians warned

The Star (Kenya) - - Counties -

Politicians in Garissa county have been warned against inciting clans against each other. Speaking during Mashujaa Day celebrations at Garissa Primary School yesterday, assistant county commissioner Hiddi Galgalo said the government is on the lookout for inciters. He said they will not hesitate to arrest and prosecute any person planting seeds of discord. Galgalo said Garissa county has sensitive clan dynamics, which would make it “very easy to start inter-clan skirmishes”. He urged the police to be alert and arrest inciters, irrespective of their standing in society. Galgalo urged politicians to campaign peacefully. He called upon the residents not to be incited.
