Graft, rape, cattle rustling should be capital offences – West Pokot residents

The Star (Kenya) - - Counties -

Corruption, drug trafficking and defilement should be classified as capital offences, residents of West Pokot county have proposed. Cattle rustling and hate speech should also be capital offences as they lead to loss of lives, they said. Residents said this would help eradicate these crimes. They presented their views to the Power of Mercy Advisory Committee on Wednesday in Kapenguria. Many youth have died of drug-related causes, while graft has derailed development, residents said.
