Governor Wambora travels to India to seek help for Embu cancer patients
Embu Governor Martin Wambora is in India to seek partnership with the government and doctors to help cancer patients in the county. County Education executive Jamleck Muturi said the governor left on Saturday. He said the aim of the partnership is to cushion patients from travel to the foreign country for treatment. Muturi said the county government has equipped the Embu Level 5 Hospital with machines to treat cancer patients. He said the costs of treating patients are expected to fall significantly. “As a county government, we have realised we have to complement what the national government is doing. We are partnering with several hospitals in India so that we can have cancer patients treated and operated on at the Embu Level 5 Hospital,” Muturi said. He urged insurance companies to come up with policies that attract little premium to enable more Kenyans to register.
