Man accused of defiling toddler in Nanyuki arrested
A one-and-a-half year old girl is admitted at the Nanyuki Teaching and Referral Hospital after she was allegedly defiled by her mother’s boyfriend.
Dr Kabochi Iladivo, a paediatrician, said the girl was seriously injured.
The mother said the man who defiled her daughter in Likii village is a night guard.
She said the man came home drunk on Wednesday morning and accused her of infidelity.
The woman said they argued and she left house to go to a nearby shop to buy vegetables.
When she returned, she found the man fast asleep, but the girl was writhing in pain.
The woman examined the girl and found blood stains on her underpants. “I removed the girl’s trousers and undergarments only to find she was bleeding and with fresh wounds in her private parts. I realised the man had defiled my child,” the mother-of-two said.
She reported the matter to Nanyuki police station and the man, who she said they have been living with for five months, was arrested.
Iladivo said the girl is in stable condition and the hospital is counselling the mother.
