Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi has threatened to move a motion for the removal of Education CS Fred Matiang’i if Siaya pupils performs dismally in 2016 KCPE exams. He said standard eight pupils have been subjected to “extremely cruel psychological torture” after the mock exams were cancelled mid-way. “I am putting Matiang’i on notice that upon receipt of any unsatisfactory results of the KCPE exams, I will sponsor a motion of impeachment against him in the National Assembly,” Wandayi said. Matiang’i interdicted the Siaya county education director and six other officials over the display of Governor Cornel Rasanga’s photo on mock exam papers. The CS said the officials “bore the greatest responsibility for the gross violation of set guidelines”. But Wandayi said the officials were promptly replaced by persons who could only have been positioned strategically on the side, awaiting such asn opportunity.
