DON’T DESPISE TECH­NI­CAL COUR­SES, RUTO URGES YOUTH

Deputy Pres­i­dent urges young peo­ple not to look down upon the tech­ni­cal cour­ses. He said some of the tech­ni­cal jobs they will get af­ter grad­u­a­tion pay bet­ter than other white col­lar jobs that re­quire peo­ple to have de­grees. “We made a de­ci­sion that the Higher Ed­u­ca­tion Loans Board will have a pro­vi­sion that would al­low TTI stu­dents to ac­cess loans,” Ruto said. The awards cer­e­mony brought to­gether Kenyan and Chi­nese government of­fi­cials, Avi­a­tion In­dus­try Cor­po­ra­tion of China rep­re­sen­ta­tives and stu­dents from var­i­ous TTIs, who par­tic­i­pated in the con­test. Three stu­dents were awarded full schol­ar­ships to study en­gi­neer­ing in China.
