We’re a country of protesters, it’s time to stop, think, talk

The Star (Kenya) - - Voices -

Of late, we have literally turned into a demonstrating country. You will often find doctors demonstrating today, nurses tomorrow, matatu drivers the day after tomorrow and the same for university students. Although holding demos is a right in the Constitution under the Bill of Rights, demonstrators should air their grievances in a manner that does not inconvenience other citizens. Protests are disruptive and inconveniencing, especially when they block roads. Police should ensure demos do not interfere with other people’s activities.
