Let us honour our heroes while they are alive, not dead
On Mashujaa Day, we celebrated individuals who have positively impacted society. Their patriotism and efforts erned them the admiration from many, especially the youth. However, we should not only celebrate these heroes and heroines when they are dead. Instead, we should recognise and reward them when they are still alive. Unfortunately, many of them die in poverty or after going through a lot of hardship. Such was the case for Africa’s celebrated artist Achieng’ Abura who died on Mashujaa Day.
