BILL SEEKS TO BAR INCITERS FROM RUN­NING FOR ELEC­TION

Nkaissery said that to tame politi­cians from in­cit­ing Kenyans, the government will soon take a bill to Par­lia­ment so that once passed, it gives the IEBC pow­ers to lock out inciters from run­ning for elec­tive po­si­tions. He was ac­com­pa­nied by Kwale Gov­er­nor Salim Mvurya, MPs Khatib Mwashetani, Zainab Chidzuga, Gonzi Rai and Coast re­gional co­or­di­na­tor Nel­son Marwa. Mvurya urged res­i­dents to sup­port Uhuru’s 2017 bid, say­ing he has played a key role in en­sur­ing the state­less peo­ple are reg­is­tered cit­i­zens. He said they can only pay him back by vot­ing for him at next year’s elec­tion.
