Kitui sets aside Sh260 million for ECDE teachers’ pay
The Kitui government has hired 2,156 nursery school teachers under an annual budget of Sh260 million. A report from Kitui Governor Julius Malombe’s (pictured) office on efforts made to modernise ECDE says the county has also built classrooms. “Modern classrooms are fast replacing grass-thatch mud houses or trees for classrooms. We’ve built 501 new ECDE classrooms and rehabilitated five others,” it says.
