We’ll go to court to stop ‘harmful’ coal project, say leaders
Lamu leaders on Tuesday threatened to go to court to stop the planned Sh200 billion coal-fired power plant.
Woman representative Shakilla Abdalla and Deputy Governor Eric Mugo also threatened to institute legal action against National Lands Commission chairman Muhammad Swazuri. They accused him of failing to consult and involve the county in acquisition of land for development projects. They said they would no tallow the project, as there was no consensus between the NLC, investors, the county and landowners.
