Maen­deleo Chap Chap ex­pects 3,000 aspi­rants at KICC meet­ing, says of­fi­cial

Machakos Gov­er­nor Al­fred Mu­tua’s Maen­deleo Chap Chap will to­day meet all aspi­rants eye­ing the party ticket.

In­terim sec­re­tary gen­eral Steve Kilonzo said the party is com­mit­ted to of­fer­ing trans­for­ma­tive lead­er­ship and will field can­di­dates coun­try­wide. “We will cer­tainly be a force to reckon with at the gen­eral elec­tion. We ex­pect more than 3,000 aspi­rants at the meet­ing,’’ he said.

In­terim party of­fi­cials will also be un­veiled dur­ing the meet­ing at the Keny­atta In­ter­na­tional Con­ven­tion Cen­tre.

Kilonzo, who spoke to re­porters in Machakos town yes­ter­day, said those in­ter­ested in join­ing the party as mem­bers are wel­come to the meet­ing .

“I want them to learn about the party’s con­scious­ness and be part of this his­tor­i­cal change in our coun­try,” he said. Kilonzo said sit­ting politi­cians who want to run on the party ticket are also in­vited.
