Director denies Sh3.4m theft
A former director of a private company accused of stealing more than Sh3.4 million has a case to answer, a Nairobi court has ruled. Chief magistrate Doreen Mulekyo said upon examining evidence from the prosecution, she is satisfied that Gladys Rose Fernandes should be put on her defence. Mulekyo, who has been transferred to Kwale, directed that the case be mentioned before chief magistrate Kennedy Bidali. Fernandes was jointly charged with her husband Salvacao Cipriano Fernandes, who has since died. She has denied stealing Sh4,310,302 from Advanced Catering Services Ltd, when she was a director.
