Di­rec­tor de­nies Sh3.4m theft

A for­mer di­rec­tor of a pri­vate com­pany ac­cused of steal­ing more than Sh3.4 mil­lion has a case to an­swer, a Nairobi court has ruled. Chief mag­is­trate Doreen Mulekyo said upon ex­am­in­ing ev­i­dence from the prose­cu­tion, she is sat­is­fied that Gla­dys Rose Fer­nan­des should be put on her de­fence. Mulekyo, who has been trans­ferred to Kwale, di­rected that the case be men­tioned be­fore chief mag­is­trate Kennedy Bi­dali. Fer­nan­des was jointly charged with her hus­band Sal­va­cao Cipri­ano Fer­nan­des, who has since died. She has de­nied steal­ing Sh4,310,302 from Ad­vanced Cater­ing Ser­vices Ltd, when she was a di­rec­tor.
