The Bridge In­ter­na­tional Acad­e­mies has won the 2016 Global Shared Values Award for mak­ing ed­u­ca­tion avail­able to needy chil­dren, es­pe­cially in in­for­mal set­tle­ments. The se­lec­tion com­mit­tee from the Global Ac­tion Plat­form and KPMG In­ter­na­tional made the an­nounce­ment on Fri­day. The Global Shared Values Award recog­nises ma­jor cor­po­ra­tions and SMEs that ad­dress prob­lems through busi­ness strate­gies that cre­ate Shared Values. It also recog­nises strate­gies to im­prove the qual­ity of life and build pros­per­ity. Bridge In­ter­na­tional Acad­e­mies have 100,000 learn­ers coun­try­wide, with 405 pri­mary and nurs­ery schools. In col­lab­o­ra­tion with KPMG In­ter­na­tional, the award was pre­sented by the Global Ac­tion Plat­form. Bridge In­ter­na­tional Acad­e­mies was se­lected by an in­ter­na­tional com­mit­tee of cor­po­rate and aca­demic lead­ers based on met­rics de­vel­oped with KPMG In­ter­na­tional, Global Ac­tion Plat­form, and the Shared Values- Ini­tia­tive. The award was first won by an Amer­i­can com­pany, Mars In­cor­po­rated in 2014.
