Muia appointed to lead the Vision 2030 Secretariat
CYNTHIA ILAKO/ President Uhuru Kenyatta yesterday appointed Julius Muia to head the Vision 2030 secretariat on a three- year renewable contract. Muia takes over from Gituro Wainaina who has been holding the position in an acting capacity since the exit of Mugo Kibati in 2013.
Muia, a former CEO of the National Economic and Social Council, will spearhead the Medium Term Plan III and oversee the country’s long-term development blueprint.
“He is one of the outstanding leaders in our country with a distinguished career in the private sector and public service,” said the chairman of the Vision 2030 Delivery Board James Mwangi in a statement. “His knowledge of economic affairs and hands-on experience will be invaluable as we look to define more transformative and impactful solutions as we maintain our successes.”
