Tuju tipped to take over as JP chairman

The Star (Kenya) - - Politics News -

Former Minister Raphael Tuju is tipped to take up the chairmanship of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party during its National Governing Council this morning.

Insiders have disclosed that the former Rarieda MP is seen as the compromise holder of the office to avoid a fallout among the 12 parties that dissolved and merged into the party.

There has been anxiety over selection of officials since the party was launched on September 10. This has been marked by intense lobbying for powerful positions.

Uhuru, as the party leader, will chair the meeting in which he and Deputy President William Ruto, who is the deputy party leader, will unveil the party officials to the NGC

Other members of NGC include all members of the National Executive Council, all party Members of the National Assembly, senators, woman representatives, governors and deputy governors.
