Eu­tel­sat, Dubai firm ink deal for ideal broad­band in Africa

Eu­tel­sat Com­mu­ni­ca­tions has signed an agree­ment with Yah­sat, a mul­ti­pur­pose satel­lite provider based in Abu Dhabi, to roll out high per­for­mance broad­band ser­vices in sub-Sa­ha­ran Africa. Eu­tel­sat’s Broad­band for Africa will tap into added ca­pac­ity from Yah­sat to in­crease ser­vices ideal for com­mu­nity, and Di­rect-to-User In­ter­net ac­cess us­ing af­ford­able off-the-shelf cus­tomer premises equip­ment dur­ing the first half of 2017. “We be­lieve it is im­por­tant for us to col­lab­o­rate with our in­dus­try peers to drive our com­mon goal of con­nect­ing in­di­vid­u­als, busi­nesses and gov­ern­ments around the world,” chief strat­egy of­fi­cer of Yah­sat Amit So­mani said.
