Kilifi assembly summons Health CEC
The Kilifi county assembly committee on General Oversight yesterday summoned Health executive Rachael Musyoki and other top officials over the Sh45 million that went missing under unclear circumstances on September 27. The funds reportedly disappeared through irregular IFMIS and internet banking transactions. The other officials include chief officer Timothy Malingi and senior accountant Jacob Konde. The Finance executive was also summoned but failed to appear before the committee, as he was unwell. It emerged during the hearing that Sh30 million was approved by the Health chief officer though he denied it, saying the approval was automatic. The other Sh15 million allegedly disappeared from the county Treasury. Speaker and committee chairman Jimmi Kahindi said they intend to meet the Finance CEC on November 10.
