Seven AP of­fi­cers, two civil­ians sur­vive af­ter ve­hi­cle plunges into In­dian Ocean

Seven AP of­fi­cers and two civil­ians es­caped death when their Land Cruiser plunged into the In­dian Ocean on Faza Is­land , Lamu East, on Satur­day evening. The of­fi­cers and two women, who had hitched a ride in the po­lice ve­hi­cle, sus­tained se­ri­ous in­juries to their necks and backs. One of the of­fi­cers who spoke on con­di­tion of anonymity said the driver lost con­trol of the ve­hi­cle on the nar­row bridge and plunged into the ocean close to the Faza shores. “The ve­hi­cle skid­ded and the driver lost con­trol plung­ing into the ocean. Thank God it was very close to the shores and the wasn’t much wa­ter. There are be­ing treated at the Faza Hos­pi­tal,” the of­fi­cer said. The ve­hi­cle, which was not badly dam­aged, was towed to Faza po­lice sta­tion.
