Seven AP officers, two civilians survive after vehicle plunges into Indian Ocean
Seven AP officers and two civilians escaped death when their Land Cruiser plunged into the Indian Ocean on Faza Island , Lamu East, on Saturday evening. The officers and two women, who had hitched a ride in the police vehicle, sustained serious injuries to their necks and backs. One of the officers who spoke on condition of anonymity said the driver lost control of the vehicle on the narrow bridge and plunged into the ocean close to the Faza shores. “The vehicle skidded and the driver lost control plunging into the ocean. Thank God it was very close to the shores and the wasn’t much water. There are being treated at the Faza Hospital,” the officer said. The vehicle, which was not badly damaged, was towed to Faza police station.
