Residents need Kerio Valley of peace, not death
The conflict between the Marakwet and Pokot is well documented and cannot be ignored. For many years residents of Kerio Valley have endured physical and mental torture, surviving in fear, threat and tension. The problem has been cattle theft. Being a marginalised area, the government should not take any longer to intervene and offer solutions to end the conflict. Residents there need to enjoy their rights to life, safety and protection of their property just as in other parts of the country. Politicians should also be held accountable.
