The Jubilee Party campaign team in Western has said the ground is still “hostile”. Mumias East MP Ben Washiali said they will, however, take advantage of government programmes to soften the ground. “For now there is a lot of opposition on the ground because people here do not know what programmes the Jubilee government has started to improve their lives since it took power,” he told the Star on the phone yesterday. JP on Friday unveiled campaign teams for each region. The Western team comprises Charles Gimose, Daniel Baraza, Justus Kizito, Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka, Mary Emase and Washiali. Washiali said electricity connectivity, free maternity, the Sh3 billion bailout for Mumias Sugar Company and monthly stipends for the elderly are some of the programmes his team will use to campaign for Jubilee.
