My rivals are Joho puppets, says Governor Mvurya

The Star (Kenya) - - Politics -

Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya has accused his Mombasa counterpart Hassan Joho of financing some leaders to oppose him after he defected to the Jubilee Party from ODM.

Mvurya told residents at MagodzoniTiwi in Matuga on Sunday they should not be scared of people sent by their masters to engage him. He said ODM top county leaders, including MP Hassan Mwanyoha, MP Suleiman Dori and Hassan Chitembe, are against him.

“If you hear them accusing me of betrayal, it simply means I’ve gone against the dreams of their boss Joho. He can’t lead us because he is the governor of Mombasa,” he said. Mvurya accused Joho of planning to “control Kwale through his puppets”.
