Probe, charge and jail officers who assaulted Rutto

The Star (Kenya) - - Voices -

On Monday, Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto was injured in another case of police brutality. This happened at Silibwet. This happened just days after police beat up demonstrators at Uhuru Park who were protesting against escalating cases of corruption. Journalists covering the demo were not spared. The GSU were found culpable of beating up peacefully demonstrating students of the University of Nairobi. Their actions only show how antireformism they are, simply because they are [puppets] of their masters. Kenyans will not accept to be brutalised as their rights and freedoms are abused. To prevent more of these incidents, the IPOA and any other relevant police disciplinary agencies should investigate the individual police officers who physically assaulted Governor Rutto, prosecute them and jail them. This will make police behave better.
