Devolution being derailed, to save it then vote with care
The idea of devolution was a response to Kenya’s challenges such as property, marginalisation and poor governance. It was envisaged to ensure quality life, liberty, prosperity and development at the grassroots. However, what we are experiencing is blatant misuse of devolved resources to defeat what devolution was intended to achieve. Those involved being so powerful, the course of devolution is derailed. Even what is devolved is not even reaching the counties. In 2017, we should be cautious who we vote for avoid the blame game when devolution fails.
