Shilling still steady on CBK’s ad­vice

The shilling was firm at 101.66/86, stead­ied by Cen­tral Bank ad­vice that it would of­fer sup­port as needed af­ter gy­ra­tions in world cur­ren­cies af­ter Don­ald Trump won the US pres­i­dency. One se­nior trader said a cen­tral bank of­fi­cial had called deal­ing rooms to say “if we need their help, they are there to help”. How­ever he and another trader said the mar­ket was fairly quiet.
