The Star (Kenya) - - Counties -

Police in Limuru constituency have intensified the search for the killers of 46-year-old businessman James Chege.

He was murdered on Monday night in Ngarariga village, Bibirioni ward.

His body was found at the roadside by passersby on Tuesday, police boss Samuel Obara said. He had head injuries.

Chege’s body was taken to Uplands Funeral Home, where a post-mortem will be conducted. “We are investigating who killed him and why. We shall also establish how he was murdered,” the OCPD told the press yesterday.

Chege’s brother John Kamau suspected he was tortured by the killers before he was hit on the back of the head.

“He had no clothes on. We suspect he must have been tortured. He died a painful death,” he said in tears.

The family suspects that Chege was followed by the killers while going home.

Residents say a gang that was expelled from the area some years ago is back.
