Deploy police to guard border, says Baringo MP
Baringo North MP William Cheptumo (pictured) has urged the national government to deploy more security officers to patrol the porous borders. He expressed concern about the ongoing Kerio Valley gunfire attacks between armed Marakwet and Pokots. Cheptumo said the attacks threaten peace. “My people have had sleepless nights for the last six months Youths have been forced to be armed with poisoned arrows and engage in makeshift patrols on the border because there have been no security offers to help them,” he said.
