Travel firms tipped to tap into grow­ing Mus­lims mar­ket

RICHARD MUNGAI/ Travel firms need to im­prove their dig­i­tal strate­gies to ben­e­fit from the grow­ing Mus­lim business trav­eler mar­ket, a new study in­di­cates. The Mus­lim business trav­eler mar­ket is pro­jected to be worth $22 bil­lion (2.23 tril­lion) by 2020,with ma­jor­ity of book­ings be­ing done on­line, ac­c­cord­ing to the Master­card-Cres­cent Rat­ing Mus­lim Business Trav­eler In­sights.The first-ever re­port on travel trends in the Mus­lim business travel seg­ment is based on an on­line sur­vey and in­ter­views , con­ducted with 250 fre­quent Mus­lim business trav­el­ers across the globe.

“The Mus­lim business travel mar­ket is ex­pected to con­tinue to ex­pand over the next cou­ple of years, along­side the growth of emerg­ing economies across Asia and Africa,” said Fazal Ba­hard­een, chief ex­ec­u­tive of Cres­cen­tRat­ing & HalalTrip.
