US election result shows pollsters lie, or also get it wrong

The Star (Kenya) - - Voices -

Just before election night, the majority, if not all, of opinion pollsters in the US predicted a win for Hillary Clinton in the hotly contested poll. The Standard newspaper splashed a photo of her captioned, “On the verge of history”. Many other media houses, pundits and magazines thought she’d become the first US female President. Independent surveys by the BBC, CNN, Al Jazeera and local networks gave her a minimum of 3-5 per centum chances of winning over Donald Trump. This shows pollsters get it wrong, or sometimes lie.
