Everton fuels Depay transfer speculation
Everton have dropped yet another hint that they could be preparing a move for Manchester United misfit Memphis Depay.
Depay has fallen out of favour at Old Trafford under Jose Mourinho and has been strongly linked with a move to Goodison Park in January.
And, after Ronald Koeman said he “would like to have” Depay earlier this week, Everton’s official Twitter account posted an update of the striker’s international exploits with Holland in Luxembourg on Sunday.
“Half time in Guinea and the hosts lead @YannickBolasie’s DR Congo 1-0. Elsewhere, Memphis Depay has put @OnsOranje ahead v Luxembourg,” read the tweet.
Premier League clubs regularly provide updates on their own players during international breaks.
However, to comment on a rival club’s player is unheard of and could be a sign that Everton a preparing a move for the 22-year-old.
Koeman is known to be a fan of the former PSV striker and believes he should be playing more under Mourinho at Old Trafford.
