Soo shakes off strong field to win Scott Cup at Keri­cho Golf Club

Leonard Soo amassed 39 points made to win the Scott Cup tour­na­ment over the week­end at Keri­cho Club. Soo posted 22 points in the first nine and 17 sec­ond to gar­ner the top award. Hand­i­cap 18, Soo was fol­lowed in the sec­ond place by An­thony Korir on 36 points made up of 13 and 23 points re­spec­tively while for­m­ers Keri­cho Club cap­tain, Ray­mond Keter took third po­si­tion in a three way count-back af­ter ty­ing on 36 sta­ble ford points with Charles Kip­n­gok and Andrew Birir. Jack Melly took sixth po­si­tion with a to­tal of 34 points. A vet­eran Keri­cho golfer Virdee Chadha won first nine award with on 20 points while Ed­win Bii clinched the sec­ond.

Lornar Kip­n­gok won the ladies’ longerst drive with David Biegon win­ning the sec­ond. Else­where, Ni­cholas Tanui won him­self a trip to Ja­pan next year af­ter win­ning the staff cat­e­gory. The hand­i­cap 20 Tanui posted 19 points in the first nine and 15 points in the back nine for a to­tal of 34 stable­ford points.

Tanui,who is a se­nior em­ployee at the Fin­lay’s Com­pany, beat his boss Sammy Kirui to sec­ond po­si­tion. Kirui, who is com­pany’s cor­po­rate Af­fairs di­rec­tor col­lected a to­tal of 33 points made of 15 and 18 points re­spec­tively. An­other Fin­lay’s manager, Chris Bir­gen took third po­si­tion in the staff cat­e­gory with com­pany’s MD Simon Hutchi­son plac­ing fourth.
