OFFICIALS SHOULDN’T BE PARTY AGENTS
In September, Kwale assembly speaker Sammy Ruwa directed the formation of a committee to investigate public servants allegedly campaigning for politicians. Tiwi MCA Omar Mwakwambirizwa questioned public servants’ increasing involvement in campaigns. Mwakwambirizwa raised his concerns and asked the assembly to probe government officers including the executive, public service board members and ward administrators. The MCA said public servants are not to act as agents or further the interests of any political party.
