In Septem­ber, Kwale assem­bly speaker Sammy Ruwa di­rected the for­ma­tion of a com­mit­tee to in­ves­ti­gate pub­lic ser­vants al­legedly cam­paign­ing for politi­cians. Tiwi MCA Omar Mwak­wamb­i­rizwa ques­tioned pub­lic ser­vants’ in­creas­ing in­volve­ment in cam­paigns. Mwak­wamb­i­rizwa raised his concerns and asked the assem­bly to probe gov­ern­ment of­fi­cers in­clud­ing the ex­ec­u­tive, pub­lic ser­vice board mem­bers and ward ad­min­is­tra­tors. The MCA said pub­lic ser­vants are not to act as agents or fur­ther the in­ter­ests of any po­lit­i­cal party.
