Seed­har named in Kenya ‘A’ for Uganda tour

Cricket Kenya se­lec­tors have named 16-year-old Pe­poni School cricket team cap­tain Rahul Seed­har to the newly con­sti­tuted Kenya ‘A’ team for the Uganda Quad­ran­gu­lar series in Kam­pala.

Seed­har, who turned out for the U-19 team dur­ing the ICC Un­der-19 World Cup qualifiers in Tan­za­nia last year, was one of the new call ups to the team. The event has at­tracted hosts Uganda, who will field two teams, Zim­bab­wean Club side, Takashinga and Kenyan ‘A’ team.

With Kenya host­ing Hong Kong in the ICC World Cricket League at Nairobi Gymkhana start­ing to­mor­row, CK se­lec­tors opted for an al­ter­na­tive side thus the for­ma­tion of Kenya ‘A’. “I am re­ally happy to have been picked to rep­re­sent my coun­try. The move is key for my de­vel­op­ment,” said Seed­har.

Al­though the team will be led by Em­manuel Bundi, who was dropped from the na­tional team for the WCLC, none of the 14 play­ers se­lected have any in­ter­na­tional ex­pe­ri­ence.
