Seedhar named in Kenya ‘A’ for Uganda tour
Cricket Kenya selectors have named 16-year-old Peponi School cricket team captain Rahul Seedhar to the newly constituted Kenya ‘A’ team for the Uganda Quadrangular series in Kampala.
Seedhar, who turned out for the U-19 team during the ICC Under-19 World Cup qualifiers in Tanzania last year, was one of the new call ups to the team. The event has attracted hosts Uganda, who will field two teams, Zimbabwean Club side, Takashinga and Kenyan ‘A’ team.
With Kenya hosting Hong Kong in the ICC World Cricket League at Nairobi Gymkhana starting tomorrow, CK selectors opted for an alternative side thus the formation of Kenya ‘A’. “I am really happy to have been picked to represent my country. The move is key for my development,” said Seedhar.
Although the team will be led by Emmanuel Bundi, who was dropped from the national team for the WCLC, none of the 14 players selected have any international experience. Squad: Emmanuel Bundi (Swamibapa), Peterson Kamau (Gymkhana), Karan Patel (Ruaraka), Kavi Dosaja (Gymkhana), Pushpak Kerai (Kanbis), Tom K’ochieng (Obuya Academy), Abraham Vadada (Stray Lions) Joseph Owino (Sikh Union), Aveet Desai (Obuya Academy), Subham Patel (Swamibapa), Aman Gandi (Sikh Union), Rahul Seedhar (Obuya Academy) and Martin Mworia (Kongonis).
