KRC halted from selling property
The Kenya Railway Corporation yesterday was restrained from selling disputed property that houses its former employees. Justice Edward Mureiithi issued the orders following an application by retired employees. They said the intended sale will deprive them of their residence. The property is in Ngara Railway Estate, Nairobi. The order will remain in force until the suit is concluded. It was filed by Lucas Odonya, Jacob Odongo Hagoi, Lilian Kasenge, Francis Mwangi Macharia and Stephen Obwoge Mokua . Their lawyer Harun Ndubi told the court they fear being left in the cold, as the corporation, without giving them notice, advertised the property, seeking interested buyers. The case will be heard on December 19.
