Teso North praised for high number of girls graduating
The Ministry of Education has praised Teso North subcounty for the large number of girls who complete their secondary education.
A report released by the county quality assurance and standards office shows more girls than boys from the subcounty sit the KCSE exam.
This year, 943 girls were registered compared to 899 boys. County official Joseph Ochieng on Wednesday said Bunyala has the least number of girls registered – 266 compared to 411 boys.
Matayos has registered 874 boys and 723 girls. Butula 1,030 boys and 733 girls, Nambale 952 boys and 513 girls, Samia 693 boys and 631 girls and Teso South 803 girls and 688 girls.
