Teso North praised for high num­ber of girls grad­u­at­ing

The Min­istry of Ed­u­ca­tion has praised Teso North sub­county for the large num­ber of girls who com­plete their sec­ondary ed­u­ca­tion.

A re­port re­leased by the county qual­ity as­sur­ance and stan­dards of­fice shows more girls than boys from the sub­county sit the KCSE exam.

This year, 943 girls were reg­is­tered com­pared to 899 boys. County of­fi­cial Joseph Ochieng on Wednes­day said Bun­yala has the least num­ber of girls reg­is­tered – 266 com­pared to 411 boys.

Matayos has reg­is­tered 874 boys and 723 girls. Bu­tula 1,030 boys and 733 girls, Nam­bale 952 boys and 513 girls, Samia 693 boys and 631 girls and Teso South 803 girls and 688 girls.
