EXECUTIVE PROPOSED TO SPEND SH715.8 MILLION
The supplementary budget had allocated Sh483 million to pay contractors for completed projects and Sh72 million for road maintenance. The MCAs said the executive does not consult on development projects. Under recurrent expenditure, Sh17 million was allocated to the county assembly Provider Fund Transfers, Sh73 million to the county executive gratuity provision (various officers), Sh2.6 million for transfer of funds FFIF04 (JOORTH). Others included Sh52 million for supply of drugs from Kemsa, Sh6.6 million for users fess (health centres and dispensaries) and Sh9.6 million for free maternity. Nominated MCA Lydia Odhiambo said the executive takes the assembly for granted during the making of the budget. She said the executive should be required to provide many documents to justify the proposed expenditure. “We don’t want jokes,” Odhiambo warned.
