Fight for KPL slots on as NSL en­ters 35th round

BY ANGWENYI GICHANA/ The last ten matches are on the card as the Na­tional Su­per League en­ters the 35th round this week­end.

To­mor­row, newly crowned NSL cham­pi­ons Nzoia United host Ose­rian at Sudi grounds in Bun­goma County while sixth-placed Vi­higa United en­ter­tain Agro Chem­i­cals at Mu­mias Com­plex.

Fifth-placed and former Kenya Pre­mier League side, KCB play St. Joseph’s Youth at Camp Toy­oyo with Waz­ito tak­ing on Ligi Ndogo at the same venue. Mod­ern Coast are at home to host Kenya Po­lice at Mbaraki grounds in Mom­basa.

Pro­mo­tion chas­ing Kar­i­obangi Sharks, Naku­matt and Keri­cho Zoo will all be in ac­tion on Sun­day as un­cer­tainty reigns over how many teams will be pro­moted to the top tier.

Sec­ond-placed Sharks host Kisumu’s Pa­los FC, seek­ing to con­tinue with their im­pres­sive run in the league while third-placed Zoo travel to Nairobi to face Mocsa.

Naku­matt will be in ac­tion against Bidco at Kasarani while trou­bled Naku­matt will be up against Bidco at Kasarani. Rel­e­ga­tion and cash strapped Sha­bana travel to Nakuru to bat­tle Nakuru All Stars while Nairobi Stima will lock horns with Talanta at Camp Toy­oyo.

Nzoia leads the league with an unas­sail­able 85 points fol­lowed by Sharks with 71 points. Zoo are third with 61 points; one bet­ter than fourth­placed Naku­matt while KCB com­plete the top five places with 66 points with Vi­higa sixth with 63 points.
