Nairobi Water ready for league play-offs
BY AGNES MAKHANDIA/ Nairobi Water men’s volleyball team have warned their opponents to underrate them at their own peril ahead of the next weekend’s Kenya Volleyball Federation play-off at the Makande hall.
The John Mwaniki-coached side will be making their debut in the event and are up against regulars and champions General Service Unit (GSU), Kenya Prisons and host Kenya Ports Authority.
Nairobi Water, who finished second in the regular season with 32 points, wrapped up their three-week long training sessions at the Safaricom Arena, Kasarani yesterday.
Nairobi Water depart today for the event in Mombasa. Coach Mwaniki believes his team has what it takes to challenge for the top honours. “We had our work well cut out when the 2016 season begun. We wanted to fight from above and make an early cut to the play-offs and I am glad our plan worked. Now we are focused on the play-offs and we hope for the best,” said the tactician.
