Koth­biro tour­ney starts on Sun­day with 32 teams

Thirty two teams are ex­pected to bat­tle it out in the much-an­tic­i­pated an­nual Koth­biro foot­ball tour­na­ment start­ing this Sun­day at the Zi­wani sports ground.

De­fend­ing cham­pi­ons Pumwani All Stars will face stiff com­pe­ti­tion this time round go­ing by the cal­i­bre of teams that have been en­tered.

Ac­cord­ing to a draw held yes­ter­day at the Kar­iokor So­cial Hall and wit­nessed by event’s CEO Robe­wrt Ocholla, teams will op­er­ate un­der eight groups namely: Group ‘A’: 1000 Street, Nyoi, Borus­sia, Le­banon; Group ‘B’: Pureto, Mash Team, Wenyeji, South B; Group ‘C’: Umeme Bees, Cheza Ukipenda, Wazee Pembe, Coun­try Bus; Group ‘D’: Team Umeme, In­ter, Ji­namira, Jes­per; Group ‘E’ : Pumwani All Stars, Beirut, Eastleigh North, Zim­mer­man Youth; Group ‘F’: In­ter­city, UON, Young Achiev­ers, Githu­rai All Stars; Group ‘G’: Mamba, Flat Tor­na­dos, Lan­gata Gremio, Masa; Group ‘H’ : Opi­tos, Fifa Best, Ron­gai, Shafco.

The full fix­tures for the tour­na­ment will be re­leased later by the event’s chair­man Charles Han­das. He said the tour­na­ment was open to play­ers of all ages.
