Kenya to have plan for sound use of man­grove trees

Ke­fri is de­vel­op­ing a mas­ter­plan for sus­tain­able use of man­grove trees. This fol­lows the mas­sive loss of man­groves. The state banned felling of the trees. Board chair­man Sammy Latema said since 1985 Kenya has lost 18 per cent of its man­grove cover to de­struc­tion, adding there is a 0.8 per cent an­nual loss.
