Kiambu government automates land services
The Kiambu government has launched software to automate physical planning, architectural building proposals and civil and structural engineering designs.
Governor William Kabogo launched the Electronic Development Application System at the county headquarters in Kiambu town on Saturday. He said the county grapples with a huge backlog of development permit applications. “With the new system, major development approvals will take a maximum of 30 days and minor ones 14 days,” Kabogo sai.
He said applicants can monitor the status of their proposals through the online system. They will be notified via SMS whenever their proposals go through key review milestones. Lands executive Eunice Kumunga said the system was launched for easier access to services.
