WAIRIA AFRAID OF LOSING HIS SUPPORTERS, SAYS MP

The Star (Kenya) - - Counties Central -

Kigumo MP Jamleck Kamau said he secured the permit to use Mumbi Grounds through a consultant after he was denied one to use Ihura Stadium, which is also in Murang’a town. He said Wairia is afraid of losing a large number of his supporters once he launches his manifesto and people understand the development plans he has for the county. “I will not be intimidated not to move on with my campaign. I will launch my manifesto no matter what the county government does,” Kamau said. He questioned why the governor would work so hard to frustrate his plans, to the extent of denying him permits. Kamau said the stadium already has enough grass and the rehabilitation is only meant to stop his activities. On Wednesday, the MP visited county commissioner John Elungata’s office to ask for security during the event.
