Rutto’s trip to SA exposes failures in county healthcare

The Star (Kenya) - - News -

Bomet county Governor Isaac Rutto returned from South Africa where he was being treated after a canister hit him on the face. In as much as it is up to him to decide where he wants to be treated, it is weird that one would seek medical attention for such a small injury outside the country. As a governor and with the health function devolved, Rutto didn’t need to be airlifted to Nairobi, leave alone go to South Africa. He should have a well-equipped hospital in his county. This event should be an indicator of how governors have failed.
