China to invest in tea processing
Kenya’s tea is the best quality in Africa and China might invest in having it processed locally and exported, investors say. “Kenya produces the best tea quality but without tea blending companies in the region, it may not realise the potential effects it has locally. We also encourage tea processors to look for the Chinese markets,” Wang Xu Dong said. He is the president of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade. A delegation, led by Wang, met investors in Mombasa to explore business opportunities in agriculture, construction and tourism. China is also interested in coffee, nuts and fisheries.
