Kenyan stu­dents to take part in global tourism re­search fete

WEITERE MWITA/ Kenya is among 10 coun­tries se­lected to par­tic­i­pate at the 2016 stu­dent re­search com­pe­ti­tion by the Global Travel and Tourism Part­ner­ship in France. The stud­ies are aimed at strength­en­ing tourism. Some 20 sec­ondary school and vo­ca­tional stu­dents have been se­lected from a pool of 2,000 en­tries to present their re­search find­ings at the GTTP’s an­nual stu­dent-teacher con­fer­ence in Nice, be­tween De­cem­ber 2 and 3. They will dis­cuss how her­itage tourism can at­tract more vis­i­tors and enhance the tourist ex­pe­ri­ence. “They are re­quired to ex­plore and re­flect upon top­ics im­por­tant to long-term devel­op­ment,” GTTP ad­vi­sory board chair Michel Taride said.
