Five al Shabaab sus­pects sneak into Malindi, NIS warns of pos­si­ble at­tacks

Se­cu­rity agents at the Coast yes­ter­day is­sued a ter­ror alert fol­low­ing leaked in­for­ma­tion of pos­si­ble al Shabab at­tacks.

A NISre­port warns of pos­si­ble at­tacks in Malindi in Kil­ifi county and Tana River and Ki­tui coun­ties.

Ini­tial in­ves­ti­ga­tions linked the at­tack to a group called Jaysh Ay­man, a fac­tion of al Shabaab that op­er­ates in Boni For­est, Lamu county.

The re­port seen by the Star in­di­cates that five ter­ror sus­pects ar­rived in Malindi on Novem­ber 7 in aToy­ota Prado.

The sus­pects in­clude group leader Shamid Ahmed, Ab­dula Al­hdi, Aisha Al­hadi , Mo­hammed and Rashid are be­lieved to have sneaked into the coun­try from So­ma­lia af­ter para­mil­i­tary train­ing . Po­lice have cir­cu­lated their de­tails and reg­is­tra­tion num­ber of the ve­hi­cle to all se­cu­rity agents.
