4 MPs want PAC to summon CDF chiefs over audit
MPs at the Coast want the National Assembly Public Accounts Committee to summon their CDF managers to respond to queries raised by the Auditor General’s report for 2013-14.
The audit report on CDF indicates that millions of shillings from the kitty cannot be accounted for. On Tuesday, the MPs said most of the queries relate to bursaries, reallocated funds and payments to contractors. They are Mvita MP Abdulswamad Nassir, Jomvu’s Badi Twalib, Likoni’s Masoud Mwahima and Kisauni’s Rashid Bedzimba. In Mvita constituency, Ouko’s report shows of the Sh20,172,661 in transfers to other government entities, only Sh5,631,193 had been accounted for.
In Nyali, the report indicates the CDF committee transferred Sh2,425,555 and Sh15,081,450 to other government units, but documents to support the expenditures were not produced for audit.
In Jomvu, the spending of Sh27, 354,465 could not be ascertained, since receipts, cashbook entries and reports were not available.
