Arrest order issued for no-show cops in Kitui murder case
CID officers suspected to have shot dead a patient at Mwingi Level 4 Hospital in August did not take a plea to the charges at the High Court in Kitui yesterday.
Only two of the four officers showed up. Justice Lilian Mutende issued an arrest order for Kitui Central deputy CID officer Samuel Thuku and Vincent Rono for failing to appear.
Those who appeared were Gilbert Maina and Paul Odoyo. Mutende ordered that all the four be brought before her on Tuesday to plead to charges of killing Fredrick Musyimi.
Musyimi was shot 17 times in his hospital bed on August 25. He was receiving treatment for six bullet wounds following an earlier attack at Ukasi in Mwingi East district.
Musyimi had been abducted from his Majengo estate house in Kitui town that night.
