100 golfers meet at Eldoret Club for the AAR Challenge
AAR Corporate Challenge this weekend at the Par 71 Eldoret Club has attracted over 100 golfers. The tourney will also feature low-handicap golfers, who are expected to provide stiff competition in the ‘Home of Champions’.
Also expected to grace the event, will be three top junior players among them 14-year-old Rishab Sagoo, 15-year-old Aman Gujral and 16-yearold Sahil Aggarwal.
The AAR Challenge is expected to become a full golf series early next season and will visit various top clubs across the country.
“Our decision to sponsor golf is in line with our wellness campaign that seeks to encourage individuals to take control of their health and well being by embracing all pillars of wellness including physical, occupational, intellectual, social, emotional and spiritual wellness,” said Caroline Munene, AAR Insurance Kenya managing director.
This weekend’s event will feature golfers from Eldoret and neighbouring clubs Nandi Bears and Kakamega as well as staff and guests drawn from other clubs across the country.
Among the golfers to watch during the event include handicap 5 Andrew Chelogo, who will be looking to challenge the likes of Vandeep Sagoo and handicap 7 Jack Tuwei.
The ladies category will feature top golfers led by Jane Koech who should be a hard nut to crack in the one-day event.
Club resident professional Boniface Simwa said players have been practicing on the course in anticipation of some super golf this weekend.
